Priest leads Three Peaks climb

A PRIEST will lead a team of 12 intrepid climbers on a challenge to scale the National Three Peaks for Rotherham Hospice next weekend.

Fr Des Sexton will head the group from St Mary’s Church in Herringthorpe on June 12, aiming to raise £5,000 for the charity.

They will start with Ben Nevis in Scotland, move on to Scafell Pike in the Lake District and finish with Snowdon in Wales.

The parishioners hope to complete the challenge in 24 hours, but say they will be happy just to finish all together, however long it takes.
