Prestige award for psychology student Claire

STAR student Claire Mallinder is celebrating after scooping a top psychology award.

The former Sitwell Primary and Oakwood Technology College pupil has picked up the British Psychological Society’s 2009 Student Prize for Excellence.

Claire (23) attended Thomas Rotherham College, where she passed five A Levels, and Lancaster University, where she achieved a first in psychology with economics, before securing a place at the The Institute of Workplace Psychology at Sheffield University.

She was awarded a Masters with Distinction and her dissertation paper won the Institute of Workplace Psychology’s best student dissertation award, as well as the British Psychological Society award.

Claire graduated last year and now works for South Yorkshire Police’s human resources department.
