Post workers jailed for £130k fraud


Surinderjit Kaur and Sokbinder Singh of Cross South Street, Greasbrough were both sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on February 12.
Both confessed to stealing £120,000 between January 1, 2012 and January 30, 2013, while employed at a Rotherham branch.

Hide AdThe pair also admitted stealing a further £10,750 in one day — on May 30, 2012.
Kaur received 18 months for two counts of theft, while Singh received 12 months for the same offences.
A Post Office spokeswoman said the company does not comment on individual cases it prosecutes.
She added: “The overwhelming majority of people who work in our branch network are professional, honest and provide the highest standards of service possible.
“As a responsible business, we take cases of criminal conduct extremely seriously.”
