Post Office set to move into Spar shop

RESIDENTS are being invited to have their say on plans to modernise and move a post office to a busy newsagents.

Under the proposals Swinton Post Office, at 73 Station Street, will move to the Spar store on the same road.

The move is part of a major modernisation programme across the Post Office network which aims to make it easier for customers through longer opening hours and modern, open plan environments.

The new Post Office will open seven days a week with more than double the current opening hours.

Hours of business would be Monday to Saturday from 6am to 10pm and Sunday, 6.30am to 10pm offering customers an extra 65.5 hours a week to access Post Office products and services.

The new set up will have a mixture of open plan and traditional screened counter positions.

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments by February 1.
