WATCH: Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg visits Rotherham business centre

DEPUTY Prime Minister Nick Clegg visited Rotherham today to set out his vision for rebalancing the economy.

The Lib Dem leader spoke at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Catcliffe and answered questions from staff and business delegates.

Mr Clegg said: “Our ambitions go far beyond deficit reduction.

“We are equally determined to set our economy on a new course. To fuel growth in a new, more balanced way and to replace the old, debt-ridden economy with a new one, based on investment, export and sustainability.

“The old economy got burned down in the financial crisis. But a new economy might be able to rise, phoenix-like, from the ashes of the old.”

Mr Clegg, MP for Sheffield Hallam, also visited AMP-based Bromley Technologies to see their skeleton bobsleigh simulator—used to nurture an interest in engineering among youngsters.
