Two charged with Thurcroft attacks

TWO people have been charged with attempted murder and robbery after a 55-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were assaulted in Thurcroft.

Paul Lyon (46) and Toni Ackerman (35) of Elm Green Lane, Conisbrough are accused of attacking the men in separate incidents on Tuesday, October 27.

The 19-year-old, described by police as “vulnerable”, was allegedly robbed on Green Arbour Road at around 6pm.

The older man was attacked in a house on Katherine Road, Thurcroft at around 9.45pm.

He remains in hospital with “multiple injuries” and in a “serious condition”, a police spokesman said.

Lyon and Ackermen both appeared at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court this morning.

They are due to appear again at Sheffield Crown Court on November 30.
