Rotherham murder-accused appears in court

A ROTHERHAM man appeared in court this morning charged with the murder of a 19-year-old from Sheffield.

Danny Robert Parr (19), of Broom Close, went before magistrates in Sheffield accused of killing teenager Jamie Stuart in the early hours of Saturday.

Jamie, of Orchard Close, Ecclesfield, was found seriously injured and lying on the pavement on Holgate Avenue in Parson Cross, Sheffield.

He later died in the Northern General Hospital as a result of the stab wounds he sustained.

A juvenile also arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail pending further enquiries. Three other people were released without charge.

Parr was remanded in custody and a trial is expected to start at Sheffield Crown Court on August 1.
