Local councillor to fight Rother Valley seat for Labour
A SENIOR councillor on RMBC has been picked as Labour’s candidate to fight the next general election in Rother Valley.
Cllr Dominic Beck, cabinet member for transport and environment, said: “I’m delighted and humbled to be chosen by local members to contest the Rother Valley, my home, where I have lived my entire life and where I have fought to make a difference in our local communities for over a decade.”
RMBC leader Cllr Chris Read added: “He lives and breathes the local community. He’ll make a great MP.”
The seat — a Labour stronghold for more than a century — was lost to Alexander Stafford, Conservatives, at the December 2019 election.
