Free course for adults considering a return to the classroom

CLIFTON Park Museum will host a free university taster course for adults thinking of returning to education.

The award-winning weekly Discover sessions, run by the University of Sheffield, give support and advice while also exploring the museum’s collections.

Dr Willy Kitchen, the university’s head of lifelong learning, said: “We are delighted to now be working with Clifton Park Museum to bring this award-winning course to Rotherham.

“This partnership has allowed us to further develop our reach and reflects the university’s commitment to the region.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming participants to what promises to be a stimulating, informative and, above all, enjoyable course.”

Polly Hamilton, Rotherham Borough Council’s assistant director for culture, said: “For adults who always wanted to go to university but didn’t get the chance, or who are interested in getting back to learning, this course is an ideal opportunity to find out more.

“Clifton Park Museum has a wealth of fascinating exhibits in its collections, so anyone taking part is sure to find the experience both interesting and informative.”
