A photograph taken at around 2pm showed a purple Ford Fiesta which appeared to be tangled by an electric power line.

But eye witnesses reported that the pole looked to be in a “sloping” position last Wednesday (December 7).

Stagecoach East Midlands told customers that its 19 and 19A service would have to be diverted due to fallen power lines on Laughton Common Road between Laughton and Thurcroft.

The bus operator said it would not stop on Station Road and Hangsman Lane due to the incident.

Northern Power Grid have been contacted for a comment on the incident.

Police have also been approached for comment.
