Crown Court date for Herringthorpe burglar accused

A MAN accused of stealing a 94-year-old woman’s purse and house keys before burgling her house will appear at Crown Court later this month.

Leon Steven Stuart (26), from Browning Road, East Dene, is alleged to have taken a purse containing the house keys of a 94-year-old Herringthorpe woman.

He is said to have gone on to steal £150 from the woman's house between 4.30am and 9.30am on Sunday (5) January.

Stuart appeared at Rotherham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with theft and burglary and will go to Sheffield Crown Court on January 28.
