Police vow to tackle business crime

SOUTH Yorkshire Police told entrepreneurs that it is making a stand against business crime.

Officers attended a major exhibition to get the message across.

The force’s business crime advisors Mick Heard and Emma-Jo Thorpe were at the SheffEX annual networking event.

Police community support officer Emma-Jo Thorpe said: “One of our priorities is to make sure that the business community knows what support we can offer them.

“SheffEx was a great opportunity to do this and let companies know about our team of advisers who can pay them a visit and make suggestions about security.

“There are so many fabulous businesses and organisations across South Yorkshire and we want to help protect them.

“Sometimes by putting small measures in place, we can help to limit the opportunities for criminals and work together to protect jobs, livelihoods and the economy.”
