Police deliver internet safety message

SOUTH Yorkshire Police have backed Safer Internet Day, telling youngsters: it’s more than a game, it’s your life.

Children’s officers will visit schools to deliver safety advice, helping young people to steer clear of the dangers arising from surfing the web.

Tips include never giving out personal details like mobile phone numbers or arranging to meet people they meet online.

Police also advise parents to keep the computer in a communal area, to easily monitor what children are viewing.
