Plague of rats shuts Rotherham shop for five days

A STORE forced to close because of a rat infestation has re-opened.

The Co-operative supermarket at Fenton Road, Greasborough, was closed to customers for five days while the problem was dealt with.

Officers from the environmental health department at Rotherham Borough Council were involved in helping to pest-proof the site.

The council confirmed the store, which reopened yesterday, had voluntarily closed ‘as a result of evidence of rodent activity’ at the premises.
