Pit strike vicar dies
The Rev Attwood became Team Vicar in Maltby in 1984 and became well known for his support of striking pit workers.
He was made chaplain to the South Yorkshire coalfield in 1986 in recognition of his work during the strike. He held the post for nine years before moving to Bentley.

Hide AdHe later worked in Teeside, Swindon, the West Midlands and South America.
Mr Attwood leaves two children, Margaret and Jefferson. A family funeral will be held in Nottingham.
