This year's Denaby Carnival, at Flower Park School, included the community-organised carnival and the Doncaster Council's Party in the Park.

The fun began with a decorated lorry, bringing the carnival queen and her attendants from Hill Top Gardens to open the day.

Among the highlights were a bucking bronco, dance troupes, Caribbean steel band, balloon modeller, a dog show, kick-start football academy and the fancy dress competition.

Children also got the chance to milk pigs and donkeys at the mobile miniature petting zoo.

Among the attendees were Peter Davies, the Mayor of Doncaster, and Cllr Cynthia Ransome, Cabinet member for neighbourhoods.

Cllr Ransome said: "This was a good day out for all of the family.

"The carnival proved to be a great example of our council neighbourhood teams working in partnership with community groups for the benefit of local residents."

The council's Denaby Neighbourhood Team helped organise.
