Yorkshire Day celebration raises £700 for charity

Cllr Shaun Wright cut into a giant meat and potato pie at the charity fund-raiser hosted by Cllr Ken Wyatt and his wife, Helen.

Their day also included a Yorkshire quiz and a re-creation of the classic Monty Python Four Yorkshiremen sketch.

Cllr Wyatt said: “We had a barrel of the Mayor’s Beer and served a variety of Yorkshire themed foods including Barnsley chops, Whitby fish and chips, Yorkshire pudding and roast beef and West Yorkshire rhubarb.

“We were very pleased to pay tribute to England’s finest county and on a more serious note raise more than £700 for the three Mayor’s charities.”
