Which websites do Rotherham Council workers look at the most?

SHOPPING website Amazon and social networking site Facebook are among the top ten most visited internet pages by Rotherham Council staff.

Search engine Google is by far the most clicked webpage, with more than three times the number of hits as the BBC in second place.

The Advertiser follows the Beeb in the most popular news pages, coming in at 21st on a list obtained through Freedom of Information laws.

Search engine Bing and Travel South Yorkshire make the top ten, with the council’s own jobs page, property site Rightmove and Argos in the top 20.

Staff checking weather forecasts pushed the Met Office site to number 25 on the list, while clothing chain Next was at 31 and Asda’s groceries page three places lower.

Football fans checking Rotherham United news put club’s page at number 41 while Twitter was at 48.

The council’s IT policy states: “Limited personal use is tolerated outside of working time.

 

“All internet access is routinely monitored and logged and sites containing unsuitable material are prohibited at all times.”
