Teachers go sumo for charity

STAFF at a Rotherham school went into battle for charity with a sumo wrestling competition.

Students at St Bernard’s Catholic High School cheered on their teachers as they donned sumo suits and grappled with each other  in the school gym in aid of the Good Shepherd Fund.

The fund supports Hallam Caring Services, which is run by the Catholic Diocese of Hallam, and operates a number of projects such as centres for the homeless, child and family services, bereavement support and many more.

The event was part of the school’s annual fundraising effort and a cheque will be presented on May 4.
