Pupils and parents from Brookfield Junior Academy celebrated the annual event at St John's Methodist Church in Swinton.

Pastor Edward Archer-Siddall led the celebrations, with pupils from Year 1 to 6, performing songs including 'Cauliflowers Fluffy' and 'Big Red Combine Harvester'.

Families donated seasonal produce and tinned goods to Swinton Lock Food Bank, based at Swinton Lock Activity Centre on Dun Street.

Chloe Harrop – Religious Education lead at the school on Lime Grove in Swinton – said: “Harvest festival is an annual celebration of the crops gathered and it is an important event in the Christian calendar around the world.”

Miss Harrop added: “The visit gave the pupils of Brookfield Junior Academy the opportunity to explore Christian beliefs, to promote their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, as well as engage with members of the local community.”
