Sitwell Cycling Club brings back fundraiser Ranskill Gold in support of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice
It will be the second year Sitwell Cycling Club has organised the Ranskill Gold event in aid of Bluebell Wood.
The “reliability ride” takes place on Sunday, March 12, and harks back to the time of testing bikes and navigation before GPS.

Club community officer James Fox said: “The idea is that you get around these reliability trials under your own steam, with only your legs and cycle computer reading skills to guide you.
“It is also important to note that these events are not a race. They are held on open roads and entrants are subject to the Highway Code.”
The Ranskill Gold offers three routes — 40, 60 or 80 miles — which all head west towards the flatlands of Nottinghamshire and North Lincolnshire.

James added: “We had around 60 entries last year and it would be great to beat that number this time around.
“It is open to all, not just Sitwell CC members, and it would be great to see a strong turnout from the other clubs in the area as well as cyclists who aren’t a member of a club.”
