Schoolgirl leaves charity video legacy

A SCHOOLGIRL who died of cancer continues to help a charity which cared for her — thanks to a video she made from her hospital bed.

Emmie Jade Bennett-Price (14) filmed herself miming to Ed Sheeran’s Drunk while she was undergoing chemotherapy.

The YouTube clip — which has had 4,200 views — is helping to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, where the Wales High School pupil spent her final days.

Emmie’s mum Katie Bennett said: “The video is typical Emmie, always upbeat and entertaining even when she felt so ill.

“She always wanted a YouTube channel, so we’ve said to people that if they like her video to give it a like and feel free to donate to Bluebell Wood, where Emmie felt most comfortable when in pain or feeling down.”

Emmie was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2013. It was discovered during physio after she fractured her shoulder while doing a cartwheel at school.

She had two courses of chemo and radiotherapy but lost her battle in July, spending her final days with family at Bluebell Wood.

Emma Vizor, a fundraiser at the North Anston hospice, said: “Emmie was such a beautiful, fun-loving young lady and this video really shows her sense of humour.

“As well as raising money for us  it also raises awareness of the work carried out at Bluebell Wood and all donations will go to help other families like Emmie’s who need our support.”
