Rebecca’s double marathon effort for Rob Burrow Centre

A PHYSIOTHERAPIST is doubling down on her fundraising by taking part in not one but two marathons.

Rebecca Pilkington, who works as part of the Rotherham learning disability team at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, is taking on the Yorkshire Double.

She’s raising funds for Leeds Hospital Charity for The Rob Burrow Centre’s motor neurone disease centre appeal.

Rebecca said: “Having worked with patients with MND in my past therapy role and seen the devastating impact it can have on individuals and their families, it would be amazing to raise as much money as possible towards the appeal which will help with building a specialist centre dedicated to supporting individuals and families living with MND.

“The first marathon was tough but the atmosphere was amazing and emotional which, along with support from a good friend, kept me going.

“So far, I have raised more than £300 and will continue to fundraise as I prepare for part two of the challenge in October.”

Rebecca also plans to take part in the Leeds Marathon next year.
