Founders Matt and Gail Waterman said the gong — presented by Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, Dame Hilary Chapman, and believed to be the last awarded during the late Queen’s reign — was a “huge honour”.

She added: “We are very proud of this achievement.

“The business has been running for over ten years and to receive this award on our 10th anniversary is a huge accomplishment for the brand.”

Dame Hilary said: “It’s incredible to meet the team here at Watermans and present them this prestigious award.

“Their efforts and their business truly capture what the Queen’s Award means.”
