Pounding the streets to raise money for mental health services

VIDEO game character Crash Bandicoot and comic book star Poison Ivy pounded the streets with a small army to raise money for mental health.

Joshua Lambert (26) was the man behind the Sony Playstation character, joined by his girlfriend Gemma Hughes (23) as the green supervillain.

The couple, of Eastwood, were joined by around 20 friends also in fancy dress as they took in a four-mile town centre walk to raise money for the Woodlands ward run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).

The walk brought in around £2,000 when combined with the proceeds of a raffle.

“My partner, Gemma, suffers from mental health and wanted to give something back,” said Joshua. “She’s been in Woodlands before.

“RDaSH focus on mental health and addictions in the local community.

“The demand for their services has increased significantly since the first lockdown.”
