Staff knew children well at the nursery, based at Oldgate Lane, and “build close relationships with parents from the very start.”

The inspector also noted all children “thrive” in a “calm, spacious, caring and stimulating environment” and benefited from “endless opportunities to explore and experiment indoors and outside.”

Manager Emily Atkinson said: “We are overjoyed with the outcome.

“It gave us a great sense of pride to read the comments.

“We always work hard to make our nursery outstanding but it’s an honour to get Ofsted’s top award, one which we will share with our children, parents and team.”

Area manager Michelle Cleary said, “It’s fantastic that the team has been recognised in this

way – it’s how we work together with parents that make our nurseries so special.”

Happy Kids Childcare opened its first nursery in Rotherham in East Dene in 2013 and has gone on to open four others in Clifton, Dalton, Thrybergh, and Thurcroft, all providing childcare and early education for 0-5-year-olds.

Happy Kids owner Steve Scott added: “We are delighted with Ofsted’s findings.

“It’s even more special to be recognised in our tenth anniversary year.”
