The new scheme will provide grants of up to £1,000 for capital or revenue expenditure that will help improve Rotherham and be a chance to turn people’s ideas into actions that will benefit the community.

The Proud of Rotherham: Small Grants Scheme is funded by Pride in Place, a government scheme to invest £20 million in Rotherham over the next 10 years.

For the first round of grants, £100,000 will be allocated.

The Rotherham Pride in Place Board is a board of volunteers made up of local people who know and care about Rotherham.

Board members have been carefully selected to oversee the programme as they have a wide range of skills and experiences to share.

The Board is chaired by Eleanor Lockley and will work alongside Rotherham MP Sarah Champion to make sure the funding reflects the wishes of the community.

Applications open on November 1 and close on January 10 next year.

To be eligible for funding, projects and beneficiaries must live in the following areas -

  • Boston Castle: Town Centre, Canklow, Templeborough, Broom Valley, Clifton, and
