New festive dress added to Rotherham Hospice Santa Dash

AN ASSORTMENT of Christmas characters will leg it around Clifton Park when Rotherham Hospice’s traditional Santa Dash is widened to include all festive fancy dress.

The one-mile fun run on Sunday, December 4, is part of a busy season of events and fundraisers for the Broom Road-based charity.

“It’s a little different from previous years as we are encouraging everyone to wear their own festive fancy dress,” said marketing manager Anne-Marie Parkin.

“That could be as simple as a Santa hat or Christmas jumper, or a full festive outfit. Santas, elves, reindeer, Christmas trees, snowmen and Christmas puddings are all welcome ...and we can’t wait to see how creative people can be.”

Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for children, with a minimum of £50 sponsorship recommended. Registration is at 8.30am for a 9.30am start.

Light Up A Life will offer the usual opportunity to make dedications in memory of loved ones.

Services this year take place at the hospice on December 8 and 10, and at Rotherham Minster on the 11th.
