MP backs Christian Aid's food campaign

WENTWORTH MP John Healey met Christian Aid supporters at a Lent lunch to discuss issues raised by the 'Enough Food for Everyone IF' campaign.

Mr Healey said he supported the campaign, which lists four main issues preventing 1-in-8 in the world from getting sufficient food to keep healthy.

He has offered to speak on some of these issues in Parliament, particularly regarding tax avoidance, which accounts for almost £100 billion in lost revenue for countries to support food production for their own people.

The lunches, organised by four churches in Bramley and Wickersley, raised £941 for Christian Aid’s vital work among the poorest in the world.
