Loyal Millers fans bring back charity summer kickabout for second year

LOYAL Millers fans swapped the stands for the pitch as they brought their charity summer kickabout back for a second year.

The Kimmy Park Charity Cup match was founded by members of Kimmy Park Away Days, who travel around the country watching Rotherham United.

This year’s contest ended 7-4 to “the Reds” over “The Whites”, with the goal scorers including Joe Clayton, Michael Collins (both two), Danny Ogden-Glaves, Ben Leather, Jake Seddons, Brad Thwaites, Jordan Concannon, Theo Liversidge and Alex Ostick.

The mascots were Jake Seddons and Theo Liversidge, who also played their parts in the game, and there were stalls alongside the pitch selling sweets, cakes and art prints.

Event organiser Reece Kellock said: “The weather was mixed with spells of sunshine and heavy rain but that didn’t put the people off attending.

"The event has raised £2,500 and still counting, which is an amazing amount for the Rotherham Hospice.

“We are all proud of everyone involved and all the spectators who came.”
