Join us in backing Macmillan's coffee campaign

Coffee drinkers will be helping fight cancer when they brew up in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support’s annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning — and the Advertiser aims to help make this year’s event the biggest and best ever.

On September 28, the charity’s bean counters will challenge Rotherham fund-raiser’s to beat the town’s £25,000 fund-raising effort from last year by hosting more than 125 of the community-led events throughout the borough.

And the Advertiser will be introducing its readers to some of Macmillan’s key players operating within the town in a bid to raise awarenness and make this year’s event its most successful yet.

We’ll also be holding our own coffee morning to help boost the charity’s coffers further.

Rotherham Advertiser editor Andrew Mosley said: “Anyone who has been touched by cancer knows that the work carried out by Macmillan is absolutely vital.”

Macmillan Development Manager Tom Noel said: “We’re really grateful for the support of the Advertiser.

“Hopefully, making people aware of the full range of services Macmillan provide will encourage more people than ever to get involved in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning or support the charity in other ways.”

The cancer charity’s website gives anyone wanting to host their own coffee morning at home, work or in a school all the tools they might need to get involved.

From ready-made posters, invites and tickets to recipes that will enable aspiring fund-raisers to make home baking part of their coffee morning, everything is freely available on-line.
