Join fun run in memory of local man Adam

CALLING all runners – a new 10k event will be held in June and is on the look out for people to get involved and join the fun.

The Longest Day 10k will be held at Manvers Waterfront Boat Club in Wath on Saturday, June 20 in memory of local man Adam Smith and will raise money for the Andy's Man Club charity.

The 10k will begin at 2pm alongside the 5k walk and then followed by the fun run, of which every participant will recieve a medal.

Organisers say that every step will be a tribute to Adam's spirit and a way to raise awareness of the challenges men face in their day-to-day lives.

There are also lots of other activities including charity and craft stalls, military displays, tombola, face painting, bouncy castle, raffle, ice cream van, community displays and football activity.

And the event will raise money for Andy's Man Club as well as having sponsorship from WF Flooring Ltd and Moore and Waller Building Ltd.

An event spokesperson said: "So come join us for sunshine, good company, and doing something that matters – it doesn’t get better than that. When we leave the world a little brighter than we found it, especially with the people who mean the most, that’s a triple win. So get yourself signed up, whichever part you’re joining, and be a part of turning a sunny day into a memorable one."
