Freelance community consultant Kathy Markwick launched the 'Music Makes Memories' Friendship Lunches in South Yorkshire seven years ago, with the inaugural Rotherham event in Kimberworth in November 2021.

Since then the dementia-friendly social events have sprung up across the borough at The Storyteller in Parkgate, Toby Carvery Rotherham and The Sitwell Arms in Whiston.

Now, just two months after the events began at The Sitwell Arms, Kathy is welcoming a fifth venue with the initiative expanding to The Homestead on Wickersley Road on Monday, October 30.

Kathy said: “I am delighted that Joe Walker, the manager, has agreed to host the event and tickets are selling very well.”

Tickets are £12 and include a two-course lunch and entertainment from Paul Anthony.

Tickets must be booked in advance by calling the venue on 01709 838984.
