Generous donors fork out to help pay for vital surgery to save loveable pooch Chase
Poorly Chase has had scans and now needs vital surgery
Four-year-old sprocker spaniel Chase is having a tough time after lumps in his mouth were found to be carcinogenic by his vet.
He needs an operation and follow-up treatment but for owners Dan Tough and Stacey Udale having to find the money to pay for vets bills is proving a further headache.

The couple, from Harworth and Bircotes, have set up a gofundme appeal to raise £5,000 towards the £8,500 bill - and have been overwhelmed by the response.
Already, generous benefactors have donated nearly £3,500.

Dan told the Advertiser that they are waiting to find out from the vets if Chase has a melanoma - which would need surgery followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy - or a sarcoma - which would just require surgery.
Dan said: “Hopefully the surgery will be all he needs if I am being optimistic. If I’m being realistic there will be something else along the way.”
Dan said that Chase is doing “okay” at present.
He said that the couple found some lumps in the dog’s mouth and were told at the time that they were not thought to be cancerous.
But a lump came back this year and the vet said it was different and was tested for cancer.
Dan said: “It was a shock.”
He said that it cost £800 to get the lump removed and tested and Chase was then referred to the vet oncology service.
Chase had a CT scan and relevant treatment which cost £3,500 and now faces a £5,000 surgery bill.
They had pet insurance but that only covered £1,000 of the costs.
The couple have been overwhelmed by the support they have received to their online appeal.
Dan said: “The support has been absolutely incredible.
“We could not believe people were donating money to our dog.
“We are sort of taken aback but unbelievably appreciative.”
