From couch potato to coaching the class!
Carol Crabtree teamed up with daughter Johannah to join Slimming World in 2021 and the pair went on to lose more than 15 stone between them.
Carol, from Thurnscoe, previously ate bacon butties for breakfast and takeaways for tea and admits she was “a total couch potato.”
The 56-year-old, works in a GP surgery, was just over 19 stone when she began with Slimming World but over a 15-month period she dropped 7st 3.5 lb to her current weight of 11st 11lb.
Johannah, meanwhile went from 23st 1lb to 14st 7lb after she lost 8st 8lb.
“The beauty of Slimming World is that it is not a 'diet',” said Carol, who also no longer has high blood pressure as a result of losing weight.
“I’d call it a lifestyle.”
Now Carol has launched Slimming World sessions which she is leading at Prospect Road Community Centre in Bolton on Dearne.
“With Slimming World's food optimisation you aren't telling people what to eat,” she said, “you are giving them the tools to make their own choices.”
Carol runs two sessions on Tuesday mornings at the community centre at 9am and then at 10.30am.
“We're a very friendly group and welcome everybody,” she added.
Anyone wanting to join Carol's sessions can contact her on 07895 393548 to sign up.
