Dearne Valley charities invited to bid for title

Staff members at Tankersley Manor, Tankersley, are appealing for charities to throw their name in the hat to benefit from the QHotel’s annual fund-raisers.

Christophe Gitton, general manager, said: “For 2010 and 2011 the group-wide charity for QHotels was Asthma UK and everyone here at Tankersley Manor really got stuck in helping to raise funds through bake sales, car washes, raffles and even a sponsored sky dive.

“For 2012 we have decided to open up the nomination to local charities in and around the Dearne Valley and South Yorkshire area.

“We would like to hear from anyone who would like to be considered and to find out how we could work together in partnership.”

Staff are already putting together a fund-raising campaign including a charity auction at the hotel’s banqueting open evening on March 22.

Christophe added: “Hopefully we will be able to announce who we have chosen to be Tankersley Manor’s Charity of Choice for 2012 at this event.”

Nominations should be no more than 1,000 words and should explain a little about the charity, why you would like to be considered, how you would work in partnership with Tankersley Manor and include your charity registration details.
