Dad endures head shave for brain tumour son

David Widdowson (60) of Hill Top Lane, in Kimberworth, had his barnet buzzed for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.
His son Tim Widdowson (37) was diagnosed with a brain tumour two years ago and has been receiving treatment in Sheffield.

“But we came home from a football match and some of his hair had started falling out.
“He said it wouldn’t be long before he had less hair than his dad. So I had it all shaved off.”
David had hoped to raise £250 with his close shave, but ended up taking £750.

“It’s much more than I expected and I’m very pleased. Every little helps to pay for medicines and finding a cure for cancer.”
He added: “I was quite happy with the new haircut. People say it makes me look younger, so I can’t complain.”
Sheffield’s Weston Park Hospital is one of only four dedicated cancer hospitals in England.
