Colourful artwork goes on display at hair salon in Wickersley, Rotherham

You can get a hairdo and a fix of great art at the same time at a salon located in a Rotherham neighbourhood.

The owner of the Barbers Room on Green Lane, Wickersley, has teamed up with artist Pete Thornton-Smith, founder of Random Acrylics, to display some of his vibrant abstract acrylics on the upstairs landing outside the salon.

Three canvases have been selected that fit in with the existing colour scheme.

Mandy Malone, owner of the Barbers Room, said: “I have been aware of Pete’s exceptional work for a while now so was happy to offer some space for a display when he asked me.

“It’s certainly brightened up the entrance, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to other businesses”.

Pete is currently exhibiting at regional galleries as well as being accepted for numerous virtual exhibitions on the web with successes as far apart as London and the United States.
