Church women hit the road in memory of Agnes
HUNDREDS of women from a Rotherham church are expected to take part in a 10km cancer charity run in memory of a tireless congregation member.
Members of the Pentecostal Church on College Road will honour Agnes Birks, who died after spending years caring for others, by taking part in the women only Race for Life event on Saturday at Clumber Park near Worksop.
The former beauty queen, described as an “angel” because of her good works, died of cancer at Rotherham Hospice in April, aged 71.
