Barry Hearn's snooker stars backing Bluebell Wood: VIDEO

BLUEBELL Wood Children’s Hospice has become World Snooker’s official charity partner for the 2012/13 season.

Last season, the sport’s governing bosy supported raised more than £120,000 for a similar charity in Essex.

World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn said they were keen to pick a charity close to Sheffield, the City of Snooker, this time around.

He said: “It’s only when you visit Bluebell Wood that you realise the extent of the work they do for children and their families.

“We are determined to do everything we can to help them and we have several initiatives lined up which will raise money.”

Bluebell Wood chief executive Sarah Champion said: “It is an incredible honour to be chosen.”
