Anne hangs up pans after three decades as school cook

Anne Warren (66) was presented with a bunch of flowers by pupils at a special assembly at Thorogate School after 32 years in the role.
Head teacher John Barnett shared one of his first memories of the mum of three and grandmother of one – her presenting him with a heart-shaped spud as a joke, due to his fondness for jacket potatoes at lunch time.

“But that sums Mrs Warren up as she has got a massive heart.
“She has looked after all of you pupils, she's looked after some of your parents.
“She is a big part of the school, a big part of the community and she's going to be hugely missed.
“School dinners won't taste the same without Mrs Warren!”
