An evening with Lesley raises £6,000 for Lost Chord

OPERA star Lesley Garrett hit the high notes when she raised £6,000 for Rotherham dementia charity Lost Chord

The Doncaster diva, accompanied by Australian pianist David Barnard, presented an evening of her favourite melodies and memories at Sheffield Hallam University’s Pennine Theatre.

Lesley is a patron of Lost Chord, the charity that provides interactive musical experiences for people struggling with dementia in care homes and day centres across the region and nationwide.

Her In Conversation Evening was part of Lost Chord’s High Notes appeal to raise more than £100,000 to maintain the organisation’s services.

“This was a fabulous evening for all fans of Lesley,” said Lost Chord chief executive Helena Muller.

“We can’t thank her enough for being so generous with her time giving us a delightful and amusing insight into her life and success.

“We would also like to thank Sheffield Hallam University for providing us with such fantastic facilities.

“The meal and service at the exclusive dinner afterwards was exceptional and Lost Chord would like to thank all those involved.”
