"Amazing atmosphere" at Bluebell Wood
Janet Wheatley visited the children’s hospice to highlight the valuable work done by volunteers.
She chatted to regular volunteers and met two-year-old Molly Williams, who uses the day care service.

Hide AdJanet said: “People here are just absolutely fantastic and, above all else, happy. I have been incredibly impressed and the staff, volunteers, children and families are inspirational.
"Shadowing the day care team has given me a real insight into the amazing atmosphere here.
“The feel of Bluebell Wood is amazing. The energy’s great and it’s clear to see that the volunteers are a huge part of that.”
Molly’s mum May said: “Bluebell Wood is the only place in Molly’s entire life where she has accessible play. She can be herself and do so many fun things.

Hide Ad“Molly thinks she is just playing but in fact she is also getting therapy through that play, which is fabulous.”
Volunteer co-ordinator Terry Lowell said: “We have more than 350 active volunteers and we are extremely proud of every one.
“Volunteers are integral to us being able to deliver everything we do and we simply wouldn’t be able run our services.”
