African clergymen call in to Rotherham to meet churchgoers who supported them
TWO clergymen from the African land of Burundi have paid a visit to a Rotherham church which has supported their work.
They went to St Cuthbert’s in Herringthorpe where the congregation has helped them support widows, orphans and young people.

Anglican minister Claude was visiting Rotherham for the fifth time and on this occasion brought his colleague Israel.

The visit took place last Tuesday (May 19).
Claude helps widows and orphans in Burundi.
Around 100 sports shirts were handed over to the clergymen to help support their Burundi projects. They were collected by Hadleigh Woodward, coach of the U9 Blacks team in Greasbrough, who was contacted by churchgoers Jayne and Chris Walton and their daughters.
Wickersley Cricket Club also contributed to the donation of shirts and Rotherham United have also supplied a signed football to be raffled to raise funds.
On Saturday, May 23 there was a fundraising concert at St Cuthbert’s by Friends in Harmony to raise money for Burundi and the church itself, at which the Mayor attended.
