Paul Shane biography was planned
Hundreds turned out to give the former Hi-de-Hi! star a special send-off at Rotherham Minster two weeks ago after he died at Rotherham Hospice last month.
And Steve, renowned for his own books about his time in court, revealed this week how he had met Paul for early discussions about what might feature in the book — but progress was slow because they spent more time chuckling than writing.

Hide AdSteve said: “We had done some preparatory work but it was difficult to get anything down because we were laughing all the time. He was such a hoot.
“Paul was a gentleman, a great act, very funny, a very good singer and great straight actor as well. It’s just such a shame.”
