Park picnic aims to unite Rotherham communities

A SPECIAL picnic is being held in Rotherham’s biggest park to bring people from different backgrounds together.

Rotherham Diversity and Cultural Group, Rotherham Interfaith Group, REMA, Open Minds Theatre Company and other community groups, supported by the borough council’s One Town One Community, are organising the Clifton Park Big Lunch on Sunday from 12.30pm to 3pm.

The event will take place on the park’s large grassed near the Middle Lane entrance.

The Big Lunch is a communal picnic which is part of a national project to bring communities together and give people from different generations and backgrounds a chance to share stories, skills and interests while sharing food together.

Anyone is welcome to bring their own food and join in the picnic.
