Nominate your health care heroes

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust’s 2016 PROUD Awards will be handed out on November 11 at the Carlton Park Hotel.
And one of the prizes will be the Public Recognition Award, which is not picked by judges but named from nominations made by the public and hospital staff themselves.

Members of the public can nominate any NHS employees working at Rotherham Hospital, at Rotherham Community Health Centre, BreathingSpace, health centres and even people’s own homes.
Louise Barnett, the trust’s chief executive, said the award was “one of the most exciting” as nominees came from the public.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for you to nominate an individual or team who has made a real difference to your life, or the life of a friend or family member,” she said.

Last year’s winner was Rachel Kay, a community practitioner for the district nursing team in Thurcroft, who was nominated by Bev Belcher for the care and support she provided to Bev’s mother during the final year of her life and praised for her dedication.
