New-look post offices ready for business

TWO POST offices closed for refurbishment will re-open their doors with a new look in the next fortnight.

Broom Lane Post Office shut on March 18 but will be back in business next Tuesday as a new style open-plan branch with longer opening hours, while Kimberworth Post Officeon Church Street shut on Tuesday and will reopen on Thursday, April 11.

The Broom branch will be open for five extra hours a week as it will not close on Saturdays until 5.30pm, while the Kimberworth office will be open seven days a week, including until 7pm Monday to Saturday.

A Post Office spokesman said that the new look branches would “meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”

Broom residents can go to Herringthorpe and Middle Lane Post Offices while the work takes place, while Kimberworth customers are advised to go to Rotherham town centre or the Holmes branch on Ferham Road.
