Nardiello in confident mood

STRIKER Daniel Nardiello insists it is encouraging that the Millers are handily placed in the league despite not hitting full stride so far.

Improved though they've been of late, Steve Evans' troops have yet to peel off the sort of prolonged winning run that could sweep them into the automatic promotion places.

That's not a worry for Nardiello, who reckons the team is in good nick and has the potential to improve in the second half of the season.

Saturday's praiseworthy, though fruitless, battering of leaders Gillingham backed up his belief that the side can push on, starting with the excursions to Wimbledon and Bristol Rovers in the next week.

"We're looking better," he told the Advertiser ahead of the trip to AFC Wimbledon. "There are a lot of new players and we are starting to come together and show how good we can be.

"We haven't been consistent so far but we're still up there and we're in with a great chance and if we can keep performing like we did on Saturday then there's no doubt in my mind we can stay there."
