Mystery Rotherham punter scoops £68,000 Lottery prize

THE National Lottery is set to give one lucky punter a Valentine's Day to remember after it emerged that a prize of more than £68,000 is still unclaimed.

Lottery bosses have revealed that one Rotherham player stands to pocket £68,244 from a draw held last November.

The winning ticket bought for the EuroMillions draw on November 26 matched the five main numbers and no Lucky Stars.

The winning EuroMillions numbers on that date were 9, 28, 36, 41, 49 and the Lucky Stars were 5 and 7.

The lucky ticket-holder has until 5.30pm on May 25 to come forward and make their claim.

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to the Good Causes—adding to the £25 billion already raised through sales of lottery tickets since The National Lottery launched in November 1994.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We’re desperate to find this missing ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings—this really could be the best way to celebrate Valentine's Day and show your partner how special they really are.

“We have the champagne on ice and a dozen red roses at hand, as well as our fingers crossed, that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”

With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their win if they have the winning ticket.

Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
